The Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund
African business leader and philanthropist Tony E Elumelu, celebrates entrepreneurship in Africa the best way we know how to; through storytelling. The Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund will award grants worth $500 to $2000 to journalists, filmmakers, content producers, visual and performing artists to work on projects that amplify African entrepreneurs.

Third World Press Call for Manuscripts
We look for the maximum effect of creative expression and cultural enlightenment in all of the written genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, young adult, and children’s books which may not have an outlet otherwise. Third World Press Foundation welcomes the opportunity to review solicited manuscripts that explore the genres listed above. JIAS Writing Fellowship 2023
The Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (JIAS) invites applications for its Eight Writing Semester, which will run from 1 February to 31 May 2023. Fellowships are open to any field of expertise, including novelists writing in indigenous languages. Previous fellows have included academics, novelists, scientists, poets, playwrights, independent researchers and journalists.

The Coachella Review Submissions
The Coachella Review accepts original work that is vibrant, thoughtful, and precise. Whether your work is innovative or traditional, we strive to celebrate writing that holds readers in awe. We publish two journal issues a year, in June and December. Submissions are currently being considered for our Winter 2022 publication.

Miles Morland Writing Scholarship
The Foundation runs a yearly African writing scholarship scheme, which aims to give writers of both fiction and non-fiction the financial freedom to complete an English-language book.

Iskanchi Press Call for Manuscripts
We are open for submissions! For books, we accept manuscripts in every genre provided that they honor the craft of writing and are written by Africans. Please submit only one manuscript at a time. For Iskanchi Mag, send us your irreverent and disobedient work too short/small to stand alone as a book. Writers will receive compensation for accepted magazine pieces. We accept all file format. Submissions should please include a cover letter. We aim to respond to submissions within three months, hopefully earlier.

Guernica Call for Submissions
We publish poetry, essays, reportage/journalism, criticism, and fiction, and we offer honoraria of $50 for poetry, $100 for original essays, and $150 for original fiction and for reportage/journalism.
